I was really pleased to visit Iceland this year with the talented Regina Piil, along with my photographer friend Anthony.
I had not worked with, or even met, Regina before booking her for this trip. From our messages, and looking at her portfolio and online persona, I thought we would get on well together, and produce some amazing images, which we certainly did.
On our first day of shooting we shot near the well known Vestrahorn mountain, and there were some great props for Regina to pose with.
Then a quick visit to a well known red chair that had been placed in the landscape, presumably for the tourists, Grammers, and TikTokers, but its great for photographers and models.
Afterwards we drove further around the coast to an area I have never visited before, and got some super shots even though by now it was later in the morning and there were some tourists around.

I especially love this one, with the timing of the waves, and Regina didn’t even flinch.

This was at the well known black sand beach, and there’s plenty more fabulous images to come from here.

I was particularly amazed at this pose, with her strength to hold it, while still remaining elegantly poised and looking relaxed.
This is from another location near one of Iceland’s many volcanoes.
Regina showing great balance at a well known waterfall.
We were literally standing in a cloud at this waterfall, but the magic of LightRoom and Photoshop bought out enough detail to give an image that represents how I remember it.

These are a tiny selection of the images we produced, the trip was extremely productive and really enjoyable, and I can’t thank Regina enough for all her hard work, often in very challenging conditions. I’d most certainly love to work with her again.
There’ll be many more blog posts coming from this trip, and many of the images will also appear in my latest camera club talk entitled “Nude Iceland” which will debut at Bristol Photographic Society at the end of November, and which already has many bookings from other clubs.
