Models rarely get to meet photographers and see what they are like before they work with them, but a great model I worked with recently managed to get the upper hand by coming to see one of my talks at Wakefield Camera Club. You can just about spot her in the second image of a very nice review of my talk that they did :)
The model in question is Nicole Rayner, a relatively new model, she is very enthusiastic and fun to work with, as well as very hard working, I can see why she is so popular amongst model photographers.
She lives in the north east of England so we chose to go even further north for our shoot. We found some interesting locations, and here’s some of the images we produced, there’s more to come in future posts.
We started at a location that landscape photographers are likely to recognise, and we managed to shoot there by getting our timing and planning right.
A couple of shots with Nicole making super shapes in an arch.
A well known boat :)
And Nicole imitating a pile of rocks.
And inside a great little building.
We saw this great little bridge, and I just love the wording on the road.
A well known castle, it was very tricky trying to get the angles right for this one.
I would never ask my models to do things which are uncomfortable, but sometimes they do them of their own accord, and I’m sure the water here was absolutely freezing. Fortunately we planned this as the last set of the day so the she was able to get back to the cottage quickly for a well deserved hot shower.
Thank you Nicole for a great shoot, I’ve seen Nicole develop so much in the relatively short time she has been modelling, she’s definitely a model to watch our for :)
