I could do far more blog posts of Lulu in a rocky environment than there were films in the well known “Rocky” series, and there were a lot of films!
My MFIAP panel in 2019 consisted of images of Lulu in various rocky environments, and we’ve produced plenty more since, as there are such a large number of varied rocky environments out there.
It’s all about contrasts, the hardness of rocks against the softness of Lulu’s skin, and the textures of the rock against the smoothness of Lulu’s skin, but the most important thing for me is that it provides a great platform for Lulu to show off her posing ability. I find with all models that the more you give them to work with the better will be their posing.
We’ll start with some at rock bridges and gorges.
Layers of rock give multiple places for models to pose.
Sometimes it’s all about the light.
This particular rock formation has superb textures, and without Lulu for scale you would have no idea of their size.
Caves provide great framing.
And finally a couple out in the mountains.
Many thanks to Lulu for her wonderful posing, for tolerating all the discomfort required to pose in many of these locations, and to nature for creating such wonderous places.

Beautiful as usual, well done Lulu and Tim.
Cheers John
Superb work by you both I do so enjoy viewing your posts xx
Thank you Elizabeth, and I also enjoy your comments.
I love this confrontation between the hardness of stone and the fragile human being. The variety of textures, of the rock colours is immense and plays with the wide range of the light the sun gives us. Thank you both!
Thank you for your considered comment.
Another magnificent panel of Lulu images – well done both of you!
Thank you Richard, I’m pleased you enjoyed them.
Testimony that you don’t need to go to the American southwest to get these kinds of settings. Epic stages for Lulu!
Exactly Randall, many photographers only go for the well known iconic locations, when there are loads of other great locations if you look for them. She does use these places extremely well :)
