I love rocks, they have such great colours, textures and shapes. They also contrast well with a model, with a contrast of texture, as well as the hardness of the rock and the softness of the model’s skin.
Rocks’ hardness and texture also makes them not the easiest thing for models to pose on, as they have to be slower in moving between poses so as not to scrape their bare skin, and they’re pretty uncomfortable to sit on.
Here’s a few of the lovely Fawnya, the first two in a great cave formation near the sea.
And also some of the lovely Lulu.
And this one was a tricky place to pose on, but Lulu’s pose fits in so well with the tree.
Many thanks to Fawnya and Lulu, and all the other models, for all the discomfort they go through to create beautiful images with me.

Superb images (as ever) – fabulous models really impossible to chose a favorite xx
Thanks Elizabeth, they are indeed fabulous models.
Yet again absolutely brilliant: great models superbly photographed. I particularly like the last one in the set.
Thanks Richard, hope you are well. Yes the square format worked so well on that one which helps with the composition.
Very beautiful pictures Mr Pile. The first two cave pictures are very exciting. I love the brown organic feel of the stone. I’m sure Lulu is giving you lots to work with. It’s such a pleasure to see your work.
Thank you Mr Pope. The caves are lovely, but fortunately out of season they are not very busy. I’ve lots of past images to work through during our various lockdowns!
