Not being the most organised photographer out there, I’m often nudged into doing things when models contact me, and this was the case when the lovely Miss Coraline sent me a message asking whether I would send her some images from our shoot from near 2 years ago, as she couldn’t find them. She was a most interesting model, who hadn’t done much modelling before, or since. We shot at SS Creative mainly using the corridors of the building, rather than the studio itself.
I’d edited and supplied a couple of images at the time, and although she was quite an inexperienced model I thought she posed very well and quite naturally. While sorting out the images to resend her I also found quite a few more great images and I spent a bit of time editing them as well. I sent her the images as A3 prints, not many models want prints but I do feel there is something special about giving someone real prints.
Here’s a couple against a wall, all lit by a nearby ceiling light fluorescent tube. I’m amazed at the low light performance of modern cameras! I love the shadows in both images.
This was again lit by a nearby ceiling light, I quite liked the composition of the various elements and the shadows, and her interesting pose. Jay, a lady photographer I know, thinks this image is phallic, but I like to think my images are more about shapes, and I can’t really control what people see in my images :P
The goods lift was very interesting as well, providing some nice texture.
And apparently nobody had used the stairs in the building like this, although many have since. I like the mixed light sources providing different colouring. The studio owner loved this image, and I was pleased to give her a print of it as she’d been so helpful while we were there.
Many thanks to Coraline for a productive and most enjoyable day, and for nudging me into editing more images from the shoot :)
