After a fellow photographer pointed out a couple of years ago that my blog was interesting but not updated regularly I have tried to always ensure at least 2 updates every month. As February is a short month, and coming to an end, I was wondering what to write about when fortuitously I received the results from the Portrait 2013 exhibition.
Now I say I received the results, but actually I was congratulated by text by Brian Hopper, who is an amazingly successful and fine photographer himself, and like a shark can sniff blood from miles away Brian can sniff exhibition results being announced within mintes of them being posted. Brian doesn’t like to spoil the surprise so his messages are usually a little tease, making you desperate to find the results yourself. I couldn’t find them so Brian pointed me in the right direction.
So to start with we have 3 (yes three!!!) gold medals (2 FIAP + 1 PSA) for En Pointe with the stupendous Kayleigh Lush.
Followed by a bronze medal for Kayleigh again with M – I’m not good with titles, and this is my shortest ever title for an image!
Next we have 2 salon praises for Secret Lagoon with Ivory Flame.
Now I loved this pictures but there was something not quite right about it, it needed turning into mono, and Lookout with the amazing Raphaella got a salon praise,
And last but not least, another salon praise bringing the total to an unbelievable 8 awards is Milky Way with the gravity defying Katy Cee.
Now I should confess I nearly didn’t enter this exhibition, and only entered a day before the closing date, shall we say I am rather glad I did! While the awards are very nice, it’s even extra special that most of them are for new images.
A huge thank you to the models Kayleigh, Ivory Flame, Raphaella and Katy, and also to my own personal exhibition results notification service Brian.

An excellent collection of images Tim and well deserving their haul of medals.
Congrats on the Awards Tim, strong competition with the like of Brian and others picking up awards too
These are amazing. I love the ballerina and the B&W landscape. Especially the ballerina, faceless and sculpture-like. The point of a nude is that it’s not really a person, just a work of art and the fact she’s faceless stresess this even more.
[…] 17, 2013 Well after doing extremely well in the Portrait 2013 exhibition as mentioned in my last blog post, one area I did OK in but could do much better is the portrait section. Now I usually start all […]
