I was very fortunate to recently visit Spain with the lovely and talented Nicole Rayner. We had a really productive and enjoyable time, and I was very grateful to have my usual list of researched locations supplemented by our host Jan, who not only suggested some great locations but also took us to them as well.
Often on my trips I don’t shoot on the first day as we are generally buying supplies and checking out locations for the following day, but there was such lovely light on the balcony of Nicole’s bedroom that it was worth a quick shot.
This was taken in a really nice gorge that Jan took us to, this is just one of the many great images we got there. We really loved the shadows on the rock.
The following day Jan took us to an abandoned village down a long dirt track, we would never have found it by ourselves. This fireplace had such super colours and light on it and is one of the many images we got there.
Many of the locations I had researched were really interesting rock structures, and here’s Nicole making great use of a number of them.
And as well as shooting from a normal perspective we got some nice shots with my drone.
We also made great use of Alice Andrews Designs parachute dress, as it contrasted so well with some white rocks we found.
Many thanks to Nicole for a superb trip, for all her hard work and wonderful posing, and also to Jan for being such a great host.

What a productive trip, Mr Pile. You really got some stunning images there. It appears Jan really knew your work and what you would be after there.
Cheers!!
Thank you Mr Pope. I always carry in my camera bag a small book with examples of my work, and when i saw that Jan, our host, was interested in art I showed him the book, and he then suggested the locations.
Great locations and creativity from you both. Was that overhang as scary as it looks?
