The Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography is extremely prestigious, with an acceptance rate in single percentage figures rather than the 20%+ of some other international exhibitions, accepting around 200 prints in total. The exhibition runs alongside the Edinburgh International Festival ensuring a great attendance and exposure for any accepted images.
I was therefore very pleased that all four of my colour prints were accepted, and stunned that two of the images were awarded Gold Medals.
Pearls – Model: Nanette McCrone This print was awarded a FIAP Gold Medal by Gabriel O’Shaughnessy |
The Piano – Model: Nanette McCrone This print was awarded a PAGB Gold Medal by Chris Hinterobermaier |
The Oasis – Model: Madame Bink |
Simply Red – Model: Ivory Flame |
This was the first time I had entered the Edinburgh International, and as it was their 150th year I entered proven images to try to gain an acceptance rather than entering new work.
To say that Nanette has been a successful model for me would be a bit of an understatement, the two Gold Medal winning images have both won medals in the last two Smethwick International Exhibitions. I would rate her as one of the top art-nude models I have ever worked with, but because she is a part-time model she is relatively unknown to many other photographers. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to produce creative images.
Thank you Nanette, Madame Bink and Holly. It’s through the creative input of each of you that makes us such a great team.
So if you’re in Edinburgh between 5th August and 2nd September you could pay the exhibition a visit.

Congratulations, Mr. Pile. I’m not surprised you are getting rewarded for your great work. Don’t forget us little people. haha.
Thank you Mr. Pope. I will never forget all the people who help me with my photography, models, other photographers, or people who appreciate my work and provide critique.
They’re all important, so if I ever start to forget them give me a prod ;-)
Congrats Tim. I’m more then impressed.
Well done Tim – congratulations. They are all fine images.
