Well hopefully those that know me know that I’m into corny blog post titles rather than the subject of the similarly named book!
So working through images this weekend, into my mind came one of my favourite models who I have quite a few unprocessed shoots of, the talented and beautiful Madame Bink. We had a great shoot early last year when the light was wonderful, but unfortunately it was not particularly warm or dry.
One of my friends lets me use their land to shoot models, so we started off with a lovely bridge. I had always had in my mind a reflection shot with the boathouse in the background, and suddenly everything came together, the light was right, not too many leaves on the trees/bushes, plus I had the perfect location model. So here’s one of the many shots we got on the bridge.
Those of you from the UK will remember the lousy weather we had last year, so on cue the heavens opened up. Now fortunately there is a shed on the land that we could use, and ideally for me it had a great window with some lovely light coming through it, and even better for Bink it had a heater inside!
So here’s our first shot, we couldn’t completely avoid the shadows cast by the leading in the window, so instead we made use of them to make patterns.
There was also a lovely chest for Bink to sit on and lie on to make shapes.
As you can see I have been mucking about experimenting with various treatments to try to ruin enhance the image :) Comments on which images & treatments you like (or dislike!) as always most welcome. We got loads of other super images that day, but they will have to wait for another year day!
Thank you Bink, and sorry you had to wait so long to see them :-S

Thank you Elizabeth, I have quite a few of the reflection shots, and I do like the variety we got in a pretty small shed while sheltering from the rain.
Like the good light in the shed and the last two in that location are great Tim.
Thanks Richard, I think with a bit of work I’ve got a few good exhibition images there.
The one who owns the light owns the shadows
The one who owns the heart owns the mind
Very poetic Mr Pope, I like to see what sort of feelings my image bring out in you.
Do you have sheds your side of the pond?
Yes, we use them to store tools and to hide from wives. I would need a nicer one if I were married.
That’s exactly what we use them for in the UK Mr Pope :)
Doh! I should have said Shedows
A wit and a poet ;-)
