I was really pleased when the lovely Roarie Yum messaged me to say she way visiting the UK again, as we had a great shoot last time and you can see the images we created then in a previous blog post.
I like using rocks on location, as they provide models something to work with for their poses, so I took Roarie to a location with an abundance of different types of rocks, and was not disappointed.
We started with a big pile of rocks, and there was an extra big one that worked as a nice background.
There was a lovely coloured rock face, with a nice diagonal posing perch.
I love the shapes here, as well as Roarie’s great pose, and the texture in the trees.
And this one’s a bit different for me, both the composition and the processing.
A tunnel provided some interesting lighting.
And the end of the tunnel providing some nice framing.
And I have a new fisheye lens, so had to try it out. While it’s obviously distorted I do quite like the image.
Thank you Roarie for a great shoot, and please come back soon, and also thanks to my long-time photography buddy Dinah Jayes who joined me on the shoot. Lots more images to come from this shoot in the future :)

Great photos, Mr Pile! Your tunnel is the new doorway. :)
I really like your “bit different” photo. The feeling of isolation for the subject
is quite strong and moving.
After seeing these photos I really think you should visit “my cave”. haha.
Thank you Mr Pope, and a tunnel is really just a cavemen’s doorway, there’s nothing new ;-)
I love that image as well, Roarie pulls off the pose very well, she’s a great model :)
Roarie is amazing.
Your shots of her are equally amazing!
Thank You
